Environmentally Conscious
We support the Environmental
Movement’s efforts
to reduce the detrimental
impact of gold mining.
Carolyn Tyler Jewelry
is made from 100% recycled
(“green”)
gold—no newly
mined gold is used in
these designs.
Socially Conscious
To keep prices reasonable
and avoid support of
the diamond trade, Carolyn
Tyler Jewelry uses gem-quality
natural white Zircon
(mined in Vietnam and
Cambodia), which has
a refractive index similar
to diamond, giving it
a nearly identical brilliance
(zircon should not be
confused with the diamond
simulant Cubic Zirconium).
White sapphire is also
used instead of diamond.
Where a design requires
diamond, Ms. Tyler strives
to use Australian or
Canadian stones, antique
old mine cut, rose cut,
or recycled diamonds
from estate pieces rather
than support new African
diamond mining and potentially
unscrupulous diamond
trading.
Ethical Practices/Disclosure
The gemstones and pearls
used in Carolyn Tyler
Jewelry are natural
(i.e.: no synthetic,
man-made gems), but
some stones have been
heat-treated to enhance
their color. Other enhancements,
such as diffusion and
beryllium treatment
(especially of colored
sapphire and diamond),
and dyeing (as with
certain freshwater pearls)
will be mentioned in
the text.
All ancient coins, artifacts,
and fossils are original
and authentic unless
otherwise described.

Guarantee of Originality and Authenticity
Unless otherwise stated, all
designs are original and are
rendered in 22k gold, bearing
the karat stamp (22k is 93%
pure gold, 18k is 75% pure
gold). The country-of-origin
stamp and Maker’s Mark,
as well as its unique serial
number are also inscribed
onto every piece. All designs
have been registered with
the US patent office and are
copyrighted.
General Information:
Carolyn Tyler Jewelry is individually
handmade by Balinese Master
Artisans, making each piece
virtually one of a kind. Because
these designs are not machine
made, they may have very slight
imperfections, which add to
their handcrafted quality.
The velvety, matte finish
characteristic of Carolyn
Tyler Jewelry is achieved
by depletion-gilding and will
wear to a rich patina over
time on rings and other pieces
which experience heavy wear.
Most of the designs are rendered
in 22k gold unless otherwise
noted. Earring clip backs,
posts, and necklace and bracelet
clips are also hardened 18k
gold. Thin, plain gold Band
rings are also made of 18k
gold for strength.
Ring sizes are American Standard
in 6, 7, and 8. Other sizes
may be special ordered. In
general,, women’s bracelets
are 7 1/4” long and
men’s are 8”,
with special size orders accepted.
Convertibility and Versatility
Many earring designs have
fold-down posts, enabling
people without pierced ears
to wear them comfortably.
This feature also enables
an earring to be worn on a
chain as a pendant.
Many pendant designs have
a removable bail, which enables
the piece to be worn also
as a brooch. Some necklaces
can be wrapped around the
wrist to be worn as a bracelet,
or around the waist as a belt
or belly chain. The long “Convertible
Lariats” with gold tassels
unscrew in several places
to be worn as three nesting
necklaces, or two necklaces
and two bracelets.
